I am so excited to share this set of images with you. I actually heard about this event a year prior while doing online dating photos for one of the attendees. He was visiting Denver from Scotland and was attending ETHDenver and he told me about this event called ETHDenver. I remember thinking to myself, “How cool! I wonder who the photographer is”. So when Laura from ETHDenver reached out to me and asked if I was available to photograph their 2023 event, I was thrilled!!
ETHDenver is one of the most significant events in the blockchain / Web3 industry, drawing thousands of participants and speakers from all over the globe. This year, they broke records with an impressive 15,000 unique attendees including 800 industry speakers, 168 blockchain/Web3 companies showcasing their innovations at sponsorship booths, and over 600 team members and staff in attendance (including me!).

DAY 1 HIGHLIGHTS
FESTIVAL/EXPO & OPENING CEREMONY
The first day was awesome and set the tone for the weekend. And the opening ceremony was full of surprises. Jared Polis made an appearance and talked about Colorado now accepting tax payments in crypto and how the city is supporting the Web3 and Blockchain industry.
$70M Local Economic Impact
Beyond its amazing programming, ETHDenver had a significant impact on the local economy. The event is estimated to have brought in approximately $70M to the Colorado and Denver economies through travel, hotel accommodations, dining, entertainment, events, and more. It's clear that ETHDenver has established itself as a premier event in the blockchain industry, not only for its educational and networking opportunities but also for the positive economic impact it has on the community.
DAY 2 HIGHLIGHTS
EXPO / FESTIVAL & ZEN ZONE
BUIDLathon
ETHDenver's main event was the #BUIDLathon (hackathon), which brought in 6,000 competitors who submitted nearly 400 projects for judging. Teams worked on their projects for almost two weeks, pulling all nighters and sleeping on air mattresses in a rodeo arena (see picture below). And on the last day of ETHDenver, they pitched their projects to judges. Teams received a combined total of almost $1M in awards. The #BUIDLathon showcased the creativity and talent of the blockchain industry, driving its continued growth and success towards its goal of a more decentralized future.

BUIDLer Presentations, Judging, Closing Ceremony
In addition to the #BUIDLathon and all of the engaging talks and demonstrations, attendees were treated to some awesome live musical performances by Polyphia at the opening ceremony, as well as headliners Latashá and Slushii at the closing party. As a Denver event photographer, capturing the energy and excitement of ETHDenver was an absolute blast (as you can see from the photos). From the opening ceremony to the final pitches, there were so many fun and unique moments to photograph.
